Imperfect people will perfect you!

You’re perfected by imperfect people.

Let me explain…well let Jesus explain.

Matthew 5:44-48 (NIV)

44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Saying I’m only human is a cop out. It’s a statement many of you have been conditioned to believe about yourself.

Being human is being divine.

Your Father in Heaven is perfect and in your humanness you were made in His image. So if your Father is God and He is perfect, what does that make you? Perfect! God in His perfection created you to be a mirror reflection of Him! Your original identification is perfection because God is the source of all that is perfect.

Now, with that in mind, Jesus taught us to be perfect because that’s who we are. We lost sight of our perfection because we lost sight of our need for daily interaction with God. We can only be what we are and possess the power to manifest. Being perfect however doesn’t look like perfectionism. It looks like loving your enemies, praying for those who persecute you and doing good to those who seek to harm you.

Being perfect from God’s point of view is loving imperfect people!

Colossians 3:14 (NKJV)

14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.”

Love is the bond or glue that gets perfection all over you. Your life may be imperfect, but know that there is nothing that shows you who you really are more than unconditionally loving people!

Faith Exercise: Take the time to practice your inner perfection! Find people to love. If you have any enemies or persecutors, forgive them. Let them know how loved they are and forgiven they are. Speak value, grace, mercy and blessing on their lives. As you do so, you will be just like your daddy in Heaven!

You’re perfected by imperfect people!
